Lowe Alpine Buckle
In this brief I was challenged by Lowe Alpine to create a multi use component for one of their products, I chose to make a clasp/ buckle with a hidden lock to make the bags more secure both when worn and when unattended.
For this project I made use of the 3d printers for my form and function models.
The sliding lock was a iterated many times before i landed upon this design that spreads the leaves of the clasp so it had tension as it was slid.
I made large scale test buckles so I could see any flaws in the mechanism and to determine the length of travel needed for the sliding lock.
All rights for this design belong to Scott Padgett
